Suitable for lead and backup vocals,  The ATM 610a has a tight hypercardioid polar pattern and multi-stage grille design. This gives an even greater resistance to feedback than cardiod pickup patterns, and gives a warm character to the voice at close miking distances.

The microphone also features an innovative dual-wall floating construction; the back-cavity assembly 'floats' inside the handle shell, providing outstanding isolation from handling noise.
